Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak strongly condemned terrorist attack at Peshawar Air Base Badabher Camp in which 29 persons including one Army Officer, three PAF technicians, 16 praying persons and 10 other individuals were martyred and 11 army officials injured on Friday.
While extending condolence and sympathies to families of the martyrs and injured persons the Chief Minister said such cowardly acts cannot serve any purpose for terrorists as civilian government and Pakistan Army was fully committed to combat anti state terrorists. He said that the terror attack was most distressing that innocent people who were in state of worship in the mosque were even not spared and brutally targeted by the terrorists.
He said that timely action by Pak Army to impede terrorists was highly commendable as it killed all the 13 assailant terrorists and averted any further loss. He also paid tribute to Captain Asfand Bukhari who embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorists. Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the casualties and sympathies to the bereaved families the Chief Minister prayed for the departed souls and wished for early recovery of the injured persons.
He said that the government and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were shocked over the condemnable terrorists' attack on the Air Base and they equally share the grief of the families of victims. He said that whole nation was praying for them. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister, accompanied by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, offered funeral prayers of martyrs of the Air Base attack. The prayers were held at the Services Ground, Peshawar.
