Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday suspended fee increase by a private school 'Head Start' on a petition challenging the hike in the school fee and issued notices to the respondents. A single member bench comprising Justice Qureshi took up the petition filed by Adil Shah challenging increase in the school fee of his children. The court directed the private school to charge fee from the students as per previous schedule.
Petitioner Adil Shah through his counsel Raja Saifur Rehman advocate while making Private educational institutions regulatory authority (PEIRA), Head Start school and federal ministry of education as respondents challenged the increase in the fee structure by the private school. The petitioner's counsel argued before the court that under Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) Act 2013, it is the duty of PEIRA to regulate the affairs of private schools and fee could not be increased without its approval.
