Bank robbed in Baldia: cop gunned down in Karachi

A police commando was gunned down in Orangi Town on Tuesday. He was targeted when he was standing at the doorstep of his home. The victim policeman commando Sher Ali alias Munna, 26, son of Abdul Sattar was posted to the Razzaqabad Police Training Centre. He was on a 12-day leave to spend Eid holidays with his family. He belonged to the Rapid Response Force (RRF) of Sindh police.
The killers on a bike had easily fled from the scene after killing cop commando to death. He was shot multiple times and had died on the spot. The body of the slain cop commando was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Police have yet to ascertain the actual motive behind his assassination but doubts the killers had targeted him over personal enmity. However, investigations that have been commenced would better determine the truth behind his murder, said a police officer.
Bank robbery: A gang of around 8 robbers robbed a local bank branch in Baldia Town early on Tuesday morning, soon after the bank branch was opened for routine working. The robbery on the bank was done at around 9:15 am within the precincts of Medina Colony police station. The robbers first held a security guard on gunpoint and then entered the bank branch where they held the bank staffers and another security guard hostage on gun point. Around Rs 2.2 million including foreign currency and gold from safe locker was looted and then they easily managed to flee from the scene.
