I am pleased to learn that the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry is organising the 3rd FPCCI Achievement Awards to honour individuals and organisations who have excelled in trade and industry and have thereby contributed to the socio-economic development of the country. On this occasion, I would like to congratulate the awardwinners, the FPCCI and the organisers of the event.
Honouring high achievers serves to promote trade, business and industry in the country. It also encourages private entrepreneurs to play a more affirmative role in national development. I believe that the private sector must play the lead role in the growth of the national economy. Private sector engagement also helps in ensuring that government policies are broad-based, properly targetedand are owned by private entrepreneurs. Such ownership is a prerequisite for the continuity and sustainability of public policies. That is why the government has chosen the Public Private Partnership its core development model. Indeed, Public Private Partnerships and greater market access for Pakistani goods in international markets are two basic policy planks of the government for creating jobs and accelerating development.
I greatly appreciate the efforts of the FPCCI to promote trade, business and industry in the country. I am confident that the organisation will not only continue its endeavorsbut also expand their scope. I am sanguine that the conferment of awards and public recognitionof high achievers will motivate enthusiastic individuals and organisations to explore their creativity and skills even further and give them greater incentive to achieve even bigger goals. Once again, I would like to congratulate FPCCI, its President Mian Mohammad Adrees, office bearers, the organisers of this event and all the award winners. I wish them all continued succeed in future.
