Message from Chief Patron, Pak-China Club

01 Oct, 2015

Mehtab Uddin Chawla, Chief Patron, Pak-China Club on behalf of the citizens of Pakistan congratulate and extend our highest regards & best wishes to the people and the government of the Peoples Republic of China, on its 66th National Day Anniversary. This year marks a significant step towards strengthening the relationship between China and Pakistan, in the form of the China- Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
I am optimistic and confident that not only is this huge investment coming from a brotherly country China, but also, this will be a huge boost for Pakistan in terms of prosperity and job opportunities, completion of which the result will be that the trade will increase manifold between the 2 brotherly countries. The Corridor is an extension of China's proposed 21st century Silk Road initiative and this is the biggest overseas investment by China announced yet. The corridor is expected to be operational within three years and is indeed a strategic game changer in the region, enhancing the exchanges of commodities, people and culture among the countries situated on this route.
It is in fact a very bold step which only a friendly country would take given the challenges Pakistan is going through, but indeed a trend setter and investment will be pouring in from the other countries as well.
China is Pakistan's neighbour, friend, ally and both countries are linked via the 8th wonder of the world, the Karakoram Highway, rivers and mountain ranges. With similar birth dates, Pakistan and China have always set global examples of how good neighbours can partner, trust, develop and nurture to each others needs, to primarily provide the best living standards to the citizens of their countries. In the end I would like to offer a prayer for the betterment and that the Pak China Club plays a pivotal role in bringing both our countries closer to strengthen our economic relationship.
