Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration on Friday sealed kitchens of some food outlets for not keeping hygienic conditions and selling unhygienic foods while some restaurants were slapped with heavy fines in the federal capital. The ICT team headed by Assistant Commissioner Waqar Cheema conducted raids at various eateries including Hill View Hotel, Kabuli Restaurant, Roasters and Ox & Grill Steak House located at the city posh sector F-7.
An official said that the ICT team conducted a raid at Hill View Hotel at sector F-7 and sealed its kitchen and food store for selling expired and low quality items. The ICT team also sealed Kabuli Restaurant for selling unhygienic food, he added. The team also raided Roasters restaurant and imposed heavy fine of Rs 50000 for not keeping hygienic conditions in its kitchen.
Another restaurant in F-7, Ox & Grill Steak House was sealed by ICT team for using expired and substandard items. He said that the ICT team also conducted raids at sector F-6 and sealed American Steak House for not maintaining hygienic standards. It is worth mentioning here that the Interior Minister Chauhdry Nisar Ali Khan on September 8 had directed ICT administration to take action against food outlets involved in selling unhygienic food items on the pattern of Punjab Food Authority.
