The ruling party central leader and a Member of the National Assembly, Hamza Shehbaz, has promised the country's development, claiming that October 11 "will be the day of the end of politics of lies.' In a speech to a gathering in connection with the NA-122 bye-elections, the politician claimed that Chief Minister Nawaz Sharif had promised to steer the country "out of darkness". He also attacked the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf, claiming, "Those creating anarchy do not digest development. If Imran Khan [the party chief] wants to do something practically, he should work for the betterment of people of his province. Our opponents play the politics of sit-ins, attack the Pakistan Television, throw allegations at the Election Commission and criticise democracy and they do not even spare the metro bus."
