Defence Authority Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed (SKBZ) College organised an All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Contest here on Friday. Director Education DHA Brigadier Sardar Muhammad (Retd) was the chief guest of the function. Students from 24 elite educational institutions of the metropolis and three outstation schools/colleges participated in the declamation contest. The students made impressive and thought provoking speeches both in English and Urdu on different contemporary topics of interest.
Brigadier Sardar Muhammad (Retd) appreciated the quality and standard of speeches made by the students which he said reflected the intellectual curiosity, indepth study and meticulous preparation of students. He said public speaking and declamation contest helped in building the confidence, personality and outlook of students. Earlier Brigadier Mirza Khawar Baig (Retd) Principal of DA SKBZ College in his welcome address said that the college provided intellectually vibrant and academically sound learning environment to develop all round confident personalities of students and prepare them to face the challenges of life boldly and successfully.
In the English Declamation Contest Shajeel Khalid of St. Michael Convent School grabbed the 1st position, M Haris Farooq of BVS School was declared 2nd while Syeda Farwa Zaidi of Mama Parsi High School won the 3rd position. In the Urdu Declamation Contest 1st position was won by SM Daniyal of Habib Public School, Shahid Zaman of Danish School (Boys) got the 2nd position while Syed Hasan Ahmed of BVS School was declared 3rd position. The coveted running trophy was won by St. Michael's Convent School.-PR
