Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) during three operations in different parts of the country foiled several attempts of smuggling drugs and seized 850.5kg drugs valuing Rs 30.46 billion in the international market. A senior official of ANF said that the drug recovered by the ANF teams included 845.5kg heroin and 5kg hashish. The ANF personnel also nabbed drug traffickers during the operations, he said.
He said that following the intelligence reports, ANF team in Quetta carried out raid at Killi Chor Badezai, District Qilla Abdullah and recovered 845Kg heroin. The drug had been hidden at a deserted site situated at the foothills far away from populated area, he added. He said that the drug was packed in plastic bags. According to intelligence reports the drug consignment was intended to be shifted to a safer location for smuggling it abroad.
He said that ANF personnel at Rawalpindi arrested a person namely Muhammad Jamshed at Car Chowk Gulraiz area and recovered 500 grams heroin from his possession. The accused was involved in supply of drugs at local level, he said. The official said that the ANF Rawalpindi during another operation nabbed accused Abdur Rahseed, resident of Lahore at main bus stop, GT Road Dinda and recovered 5kg hashish from his possession. ANF Lahore recovered 230 grams heroin at Allama Iqbal International Airport hidden in a parcel and intended to be smuggled to UK. He said that cases have been registered at ANF police station and investigation is underway.
