Majalis Wahadtul Muslimeen (MWM) and Jamiat Ulmae Pakistan-Niazi (JUP-N) announced on Friday to support Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in upcoming by-polls in Lahore. Moreover, PTI also formally requested Jamat-e-Islami to side by it in these crucial elections. PTI Punjab Organizer Chaudhry Sarwar and Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed went to see Lahore Ameer of Jamat-e-Islami Mian Maqsood and Deputy Secretary General Fareed Paracha.
According to the spokesperson of the PTI media cell Jamat leaders sought time to respond to the request. Chaudhry Sarwar along with candidate from NA-122 Abdul Aleem Khan and Jamshed Iqbal Cheema also met with Deputy Secretary General of MWM Allama Iqbal Kamrani and other leaders of the MWM. On the occasion, MWM announced its support PTI candidates in by-polls. The two parties also agreed for seat arrangement in upcoming Local Government elections in Punjab.
Chaudhry Sarwar thanked MWM for announcing its support to PTI and said the time had come to fight against the menaces of corruption, bad governance and status-quo. He was of the opinion that all well wishers of the country must be united in their battle for the rights of people. Earlier after meeting with JI leadership, Chaudhry Sarwar told media that PTI and JI were allies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and their coalition was ideal in the province. We wish to take this co-operation ahead and strengthen it. JUP-N President Pir Syed Masoom Abbas Naqvi also assured PTI of its full co-operation.
