After implementation of passport fee collection at all National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) branches in the Federal Capital Region Islamabad, the government is mulling over arranging collection of vehicle registration fee at all branches of NBP across the country to facilitate the people. Parliamentary Secretary Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal said the arrangement of passport fee collection at all NBP branches was initially being implemented in Islamabad and it would be expanded to over 1300 branches across the country in phases.
While inaugurating passport fees collection at NBP Jinnah Avenue Branch here on Thursday, he said the idea of collection of passport fees at all NBP branches was raised by a member of National Assembly in an NA standing committee which has now been implemented. He said this decision has resolved one issue of the people and the government was committed to resolve all issues one by one. Director General Passports Usman Bajwa on the occasion said the arrangement would facilitate passport and visa applicants by reducing queues at passport fee counter and it would also help in reducing the menace of agents.
He said besides this arrangement, another project of fee collection through mobile banking across the country was also under process which would be implemented within 2-3 months.
