“Running such an important House needs vision and experience and I believe that member would opt for me to give an opportunity for running the House in more appropriate manner,” he said talking to media in front of the Parliament House.
When asked about any preparations, he said, “owing to my political standing, I am well known to members and have confidence that they would vote for me.”
He said anybody securing such an important slot would no doubt have support of the majority. But, he should also be visionary and far sighted.
“No matter that I hail from opposition, yet I am hopeful to be elected. Speaker’s election would be a test for the members,” he claimed.
He said smooth and meaningful running of the House would strengthen democracy. It would also test of the time and needs vision and maturity.
When asked about confusions among the opposition parties, he claimed with his election as speaker would set aside all doubts.
