It gives me immense pleasure that PIPFA and CIPFA have joined hands by singing an MOU to create an environment for growth through sound public financial management in Pakistan. On this eve, I wish all the success to PIPFA and CIPFA. I sincerely hope that this partnership will go a long way in improving the qualification of cadres of auditors and accountants serving in the Public Sector of Pakistan.
PIPFA qualification is a pre-requisite for promotion of Senior Auditors (BS-16) to the cadres of Assistant Accounts Officer/Assistant Audit Officer (BS-17). This MoU will make a fully qualified PIPFA member eligible for exemptions while acquiring CIPFA certification, which is the only globally recognised qualification exclusively dedicated to Public Sector Financial Management. Capacity Development is one of the main priorities of the Department of the Auditor-General of Pakistan. This collaboration of PIPFA with CIPFA will certainly help a lot to enhance capabilities of personnel in disciplines of Accounts, Finance and Audit. This event is, therefore, an important milestone in strengthening the Public Financial Management in Pakistan.
