In a press statement dated 09.10.2015, issued by the management of Formanites Housing Scheme, Lahore, a number of allegations have been levelled against this Bureau and its functioning. Fingers have also been pointed at the professionalism and integrity of some of its officers. This clarification is meant to put the things straight once and for all.
First and foremost, NAB out rightly rejects all such allegations and terms these as baseless, incorrect, unfounded and unsupported. The press statement in question is nothing more but part of a secret agenda and propaganda campaign aimed at maligning the bureau its functioning and some of its most seasoned and decorated officers. As stated earlier from time to time it is reiterated that the character, working, track record, impartiality and performance of this Bureau and its officers has been unquestionable, impeccable, exemplary and praise worthy. NAB has strong resolve to fight corruption in all its forms and every sphere of life come what may, without taking into consideration any favour or fear. This is also meant to be made part of the record that NAB as an institution is never dependent on the whims of any individual, from within or outside, for its working and indeed no individual can influence course of any inquiry/investigation or its outcome to serve his personal agenda.
As far claims made with respect to the case in question are concerned, the management of the said housing society has cleverly made an attempt to play down the magnitude, gravity and extent of the issue. They have deliberately and consciously fabricated and misrepresenting the facts. In doing so, they have made a mockery of the laws of the land, its legal process and the long standing grievances of the general public.
So far, more than 1100 affectees have filed complaints with this Bureau with respect to gross irregularities and illegalities committed by the management of the said housing society. These are concerning both phase-I and phase-II of the Formanites Housing Scheme. The accused persons used the hard earned public money for their personal gains and amassed huge assets. They did not pay any heed to the hue and cry raised by the helpless people rather turned a deaf ear towards them.
This is to enlighten the general public that a combined investigation team has been assigned the responsibility to probe the matter and the liability has been calculated on the basis of the claims received from time to time.
The liability amount is bound to increase as more and more claim are pouring in. Since this is a case of cheating public at large, NAB, while remaining within the boundaries defined by law is making all out efforts to recover the looted amount and return the same to whom it belongs without delay.-PR
