Although the mobile version of a website looks best on a smartphone's screen, sometimes there's extra information on the big-screen, "desktop" version of the website. Users of iOS 9 now have a special trick they can use to switch to the desktop view.
First, open the mobile version of the site. Once it's up, hold your finger down on the Refresh button, in the top-right corner, next to the address line. After a short period, Safari will ask if the desktop version is desired.
That's different from the method used with iOS 8, which requires users to open the mobile version and then, when saving it to the Favourites menu, opt for the desktop version. After that's done, the browser then defaults to the desktop version.
