Auqaf Department body holds meeting with Ulema, religious leaders

The Itihad Bainul Muslimeen Committee (IBMC) of Auqaf Department headed by Coordinator Sahibzada Zahid Mehmood Qasmi held a meeting with the Ulema and religious leaders of Faisalabad Division at Circuit House. Divisional Commissioner Captain Nasim Nawaz (Retd), RPO Ehsan Tufail, DCOs Noorul Amin Mengal, Nadir Chatha, Aamir Ejaz Akbar, Shaukat Ali Khichi, CPO Afzaal Ahmad Kausar, DPOs of district Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot and other officers of divisional, district administration were present on this occasion.
Divisional Commissioner Captain Nasim Nawaz (Retd) welcomed the members of Itihad Bainul Muslimeen Committee and said that Ulema Karam had always played an exemplary role for maintaining peace and religious harmony. He said that the unity among all sects was an imperative during Muharramul Harram keeping in view the sensitivity of these days. He said that stringent measures would be taken in the wake of security threats, however, Ulema and religious leaders should follow the code of conduct to avoid any disturbance.
He further said that the ban on use of loudspeakers and inviting firebrand speakers would be implemented strictly. The Commissioner informed the meeting about the measures taken for promoting the religious harmony among different sects and to maintain law and situation during Muharramul Harram. RPO Ehsan Tufail assured that all out efforts would be mobilised for maintaining peace during the Muharram and strict security arrangements would be made for the protection of Muharram majalis. He said that the role of Ulema was very important and vital to make the Muharram arrangements a success.
He stressed upon extending full co-operation with the law enforcement agencies to foil the nefarious designs of terrorists. Coordinator Committee Sahbzada Zahid Mehmud Qasmi said that members of Itihad Bainul Muslimeen Committee were visiting throughout the province to sensitise the peace committees for maintaining interfaith harmony and brotherhood.
