Indonesian Navy Ship KRI Sultan Iskandarmuda has arrived on a goodwill-cum-training visit here at Karachi Port Monday. The visiting ship was accorded a warm welcome and received by senior officials of Pakistan Navy and Indonesian Defence Attaché in Pakistan.
During the stay, Ship's Commanding Officer will call on senior naval officers of Pakistan Navy at Karachi. Matters pertaining to mutual interest and professional training between the brotherly navies will be discussed. Commanding Officer of the Ship will also lay wreath at Mazar-e-Quaid. Friendly sports events and visits of Indonesian delegation to PN establishments have also been planned. Pakistan Navy personnel will also reciprocate the visit onboard Indonesian navy ship.
Pakistan Navy and Indonesian Navy enjoy historic, brotherly relations and frequently interact with each other for joint exercises, port calls, training etc. The current visit of Indonesian Navy Ship is of high significance as it will help in promoting peace and security in the region. It will further enhance defence ties and improve maritime collaboration between the two brotherly countries in general and navies in particular. These visits are also in line with Government policies to enhance maritime collaboration with regional and extra regional countries.-PR
