PTI consulted Jamaat-e-Islami on QWP: senior minister

KP Senior Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (LG&RD) and parliamentary leader of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Inayatullah Khan has said that PTI has consulted them on the joining of QWP, which was aimed for the strengthening of the coalition government. Speaking in the Guest House Programme under the auspices of Peshawar Press Club (PPC) here Thursday, he said that JI will never remain stick to the government.
However, he said presently an environment of confidence is prevailing between JI and PTI. He said that QWP is a political party and they will not oppose its joining of the coalition government. He said that their joining in the govt will improve the performance of treasury benches in the provincial govt. He said that they have smooth working relationships with PTI and till now none of the senior leadership of their senior coalition partner has issued statement against them.
The senior minister said that the provincial govt has allocated a development fund of Rs 42.4 billion for local governments while another huge amount of Rs 102 billion will be spent on salaries and other non-developmental heads. He said that the release of funds allocated in this regard have been started after which the district govt will prepare their budgets to start utilisation. He said that powers have been transferred to local governments and a meeting of the Local Government Commission will be convened on October 27 or 28 and a meeting of the Provincial Finance Commission (PFC) will also be called next week to finalise formula for funds distribution.
