NAB chairman visits Rawalpindi Bureau

The chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday said that corruption not only caused delay in early completion of development projects but also caused huge loss to national exchequer. During a visit to NAB Rawalpindi Bureau to review its performance, he was given a briefing by DG NAB Rawalpindi Zahir Shah about the ongoing cases.
NAB chairman was informed that NAB Rawalpindi has filed seven references in Rental Power cases including Karkey Ship, Piranghaib Multan, Sahuwal Sailkot, Guddu Sindh, Naudero-I, Naudero II Sindh, Summundri Road Faislabad in respective accountability courts. He was also informed that the main accused in these references are Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, former prime minister, Ismail Qureshi, former secretary/chairman PEPCO, Shahid Rafi, ex-secretary/chairman PEPCO, Tahir Basharat Cheema, ex- MD PEPCO, and others, two cases of RPPs including, Sindh, Bhikki Sheikhupara, M/S Gulf Rental Power Pvt Ltd are under investigation and RPPs cases including Sharqpur Pvt Ltd, M/S Reshma Power Generation Raiwand and M/S Young Gen Power Ltd are at inquiry stage.-PR
