Water shortage crisis intensifies in twin cities

Residents of the twin cities have to suffer as water shortage crisis intensifies. Citizens are forced to purchase water tankers to meet their domestic needs. According to details, water supply system in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad was adversely disrupted creating acute water shortage in the residential areas.
The citizens complained that Capital Development Authority (CDA) and WASA have failed to meet their water needs and they had to purchase water tankers for the purpose which was an additional burden on the poor people. On the other hand water supplied through water tankers was polluted and not suitable to be used for consumption, they added. They demanded of the district governments and authorities concerned to take notice of the situation and ensure solid measures for smooth supply of water in the twin cities.
