National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Rawalpindi, has arrested Mufti Muhammad Idrees and Abdul Malik Bajouri, directors of Mufti Ehsan-ul-Haq Fiazzi Group of Industries, on the charges of defrauding public to the tune of Rs8.2 billion in the name of illegal Modarba/Musharika business.
During investigation, it was transpired that the accused persons induced public at large to invest their money in their illegal Modarba/Musharika business against attractive profits and thus looted them.
NAB investigation teams are trying to recover the looted money from the accused persons and in this connection some of their property, including houses, agricultural land and luxury vehicles, have been seized. The NAB has, so far, recovered Rs1.734bn from the accused.
So far, NAB, Rawalpindi, has arrested 34 accused persons in the Modarba scam and they include Ghulam Rasool Ayubi, M. Khalid, Hussain Ahmed, Mufti Shabbir Usmani, Sajjad Ahmed, Muhammad Irfan, Hamid Nawaz, Mufti Ehsan-ul-Haq, Obaidullah, Ibrar-ul-Haq, Hafiz Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Moeen Aslam, Umair Ahmed, Nazir Ahmed, Ibrahim Alshoriam, M. Usama, Aqeel Abbasi, Saifullah, Asif Javed, Bilal Khan Bangash, Khan Muhammad, Mateeh-ur-Rehman, Ijaz Anwar, Muhammad Saqib, Muhammad Ehsan, Muhammad Nauman Qureshi, Syed Aksheed Hussain, Adil Butt, Mufti Hanif Khan, Hafiz Mukhtar and Muhammad Bilal Afridi.
