Inter-Switch transactions: SBP waives ATM charges for TDPs

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Tuesday announced waiver of Inter-Switch Fee/Charges on ATM transactions for Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) of North Waziristan Agency. According to PSD Circular Letter No 03 of 2015, government of Pakistan has sanctioned payments of monthly cash assistance to Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) of North Waziristan Agency which is being paid through ATM cards.
The programme is being managed by Federally Administrated Tribal Areas Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) who have requested for the grant in waiver of ATM Inter-Switch Fee/charges. Accordingly, it has been decided that waiver of Inter-Switch Fee/Charges on ATM transactions for BISP and Khidmat Cards, respectively, will also be applicable on all financial and non-financial transactions executed by TDPs of North Waziristan Agency under FDMA's programme. Compliance of these instructions shall be ensured meticulously with immediate effect. Non-compliance to the instructions will attract penal action as per relevant laws, the circular maintained.
