The Embassy of the People Republic of China has donated food and non-food relief goods for earthquake affected people of Pakistan. According to a press release issued by the embassy the People Republic of China had donated 110 flashlights, 252 cotton-padded clothes, 400 shawls, 500 quilts, 204 milk powder, 125 instant noodles, 100 cereals, 257 cookies and 600 purified water canes.
Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang have sent messages of condolences to President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan respectively over the recent earthquake. In his message, President Xi said he was shocked to learn that the earthquake in Afghanistan has caused severe losses of lives and property in Pakistan. He would like to, on behalf of the Government and people of China as well as in his own name, expressed his deep condolences to the victims and sincere sympathy to the families of the victims and the wounded.
President Xi stressed that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic co-operative partners sharing weal and woe. The Chinese people feel the same pain suffered by the Pakistani people. The Chinese side is willing to provide support and assistance for the Pakistani side within its capacity. He was convinced that under the leadership of President Mamnoon Hussain and the Government of Pakistan, the Pakistani people are bound to overcome the disaster and rebuild their homeland. Similarly, Premier Li Keqiang in the message expressed the willingness of the Chinese side to do its utmost to provide support and assistance to the Pakistani side.
