'Implementation of women package 2015 being ensured'

Secretary Women Development Department Punjab Dr Amna Imam has said that implementation of Women Package 2015 is being ensured. Presiding over a departmental meeting here on Friday, Dr Amna Imam said various steps had been taken under women package for the benefit of working women as well as domestic women.
She said thousands of house workers had been imparted training with the co-operation of ILO and APWA. The meeting was informed that contracts for canteens of educational institutions are being given to women and it is also be ensured that all workers in the canteen are female. The meeting also reviewed the project of working women hostels and day care centres.
Meanwhile, Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs & Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sandhu said free of cost training in vocational skills would be imparted to women belonging to minorities.
Talking to a delegation of women of minorities, Khalil Tahir Sandhu said under a phased programme, courses of various skills were being conducted while the government was also providing loans to women. The government had started training programmes for imparting skills to rural women, he added.
Khalil Tahir Sandhu stressed upon the delegation to apprise the women of their respective area about those programme so that they could receive vocational training and earn their livelihood.
