Suspect killed in 'encounter', four bodies recovered

Police on Sunday claimed to have killed an alleged target killer and arrested his accomplice in an `encounter' in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Giving details of the `encounter, police said that two persons attacked a police party in Gulistan-e-Jauhar in the wee hours of Sunday and in the ensuing encounter, an alleged target killer, identified as Faraz Baig, was gunned down while his accomplice, Ali, was arrested.
The body of the alleged target killer has been shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy, they added.
According to police, the alleged target killer was involved in the killing of a worker of a political party.
Meanwhile, four unidentified bodies were recovered from a well, located near Edhi village on Super Highway.
According to police, the bodies found dumped in a well near Edhi village were several weeks old. The bodies have been shifted to a morgue, they added.
