Punjab Law Minister, Rana Sana Ullah Khan, has claimed that out of 157 local bodies seats in Faisalabad city, 111 candidates of the PML-N were elected. Out of these 71 candidates emerged victorious having the election symbol of "SHER" while those 40 elected in these Polls are also Muslim Leaguers. He was addressing the elected councillors of the PML-N at his Dera at Samanabad here today for whom the Minister had arranged a reception.
He said that in case my earlier statements had injured the sentiments of anybody, openly regrets for that and now urges all the Muslim League Factions to bury their petty differences and collective struggle for raising the image of Muslim League among the masses. He congratulated the elected
Councillors in Local Bodies Elections and exhorted that they should devotedly work for serving the voters of their constituencies. He said that although the candidates of the PML-N had started their hectic electioneering campaign, yet the "Strategy adopted by the Local Leadership of the Party" also played a vital role for success of the Muslim league Candidates.
He strongly criticised the PTI leadership for the un-democratic attitude of their leaders and said that despite utilisation of all sources and making false propaganda against the PML-N Leaders, they could hardly attain the fourth position in the Local Bodies Polls. He paid tributes to local Police and Administration for arranging strict security measures at all the Polling Stations which helped a lot for holding Local bodies Elections in peaceful atmosphere.
Announcing the Policy of High Leadership of the PML-N about deciding the criteria for Chairman Zila Councils and Mayors Municipal Corporations in Punjab, the law minister told that a Board would be constituted to interview the intending candidates for these two top slots of the Local Bodies in Punjab. Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, will interview all the aspiring candidates of PML-N for these top slot local bodies offices and submit his report to Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who as President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, will announce his final decision in the light of the Board's Report.
