After ‘Dhadak’ and ‘Takht’, Karan Johar has once again signed Jahnvi Kapoor as his female lead in a sequel of ‘Dostana’, along with Sidharth Malhotra.
The 2008 release, starring John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra, was the first film that touched upon the taboo topic of homosexuality and brought it into the mainstream cinema.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the 46-year-old producer has finalised a script for the film and has roped Sidharth and Janhvi to play the film's lead.
“Karan always wanted to make Dostana 2, especially after the first film worked so well. Now finally he has a script for the film, which of course will speed up production. As for the cast, Karan has finalized both Sidharth and Janhvi, and is currently looking out for the third lead role that will again be a male lead,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.
‘Dostana 2’ will be again directed by Tarun Mansukhani. The makers are still casting people for the film and it is still a long way off from going on the floor.
After giving her Bollywood break in ‘Dhadak’, KJo has also signed Janhvi in his upcoming period drama ‘Takht’, which also stars Kareena Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Padnekar, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles.
