Serbia wants closer ties with Pakistan

Serbia is keen to augment politico-economic co-operation with Pakistan, said a statement issued on Friday. To this effect, Serbian Ambassador to China Milan Bacevic visited Islamabad to present his credentials to President Mamnoon Hussain. Bacevic is likely to be deputed in Pakistan anytime soon.
Accompanied by Honorary Consul General of Serbia Tariq Rafi, in Islamabad Ambassador Bacevic held several meetings with Pakistani ministers, including defence, defence production, water and power and petroleum and natural resources, and other high level local officials and dignitaries. Agenda of the meetings mainly was to discuss ways and means to strengthen overall bilateral political relations and develop economic co-operation.
The two sides discussed various issues of mutual interest and identified as priority areas exchanges in the fields of technology transfer, education, culture, people-to-people contact and co-operation in energy sector like geological survey, oil and gas exploration and mining. The two sides agreed that enormous potentials and possibilities existed for the both nations to build mutual co-operation. To achieve this end, Serbia and Pakistan would intensify their efforts.-PR
