Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Saturday sealed numerous food outlets in Lahore on the charges of violating the rules of hygiene or working without food license. As per details, PFA Allama Iqbal Town team headed by PFA Director Operations Ayesha Mumtaz sealed Sakhi Data Hotel, Bismillah Juice Corner and Abdullah Hotel and Naan Shop, all situated in Johar Town area, on the charges of running business without license, filthy kitchen, workers without head covers or medical reports and other charges.
Similarly Gulberg Town team sealed Ali Super Store and Shaibi Paan shop in Kot Lakhpat area, Karachi Samosa and Hafeez Paan shop in Moden Town on the charge of not having food business license and not following the directives issues by the Authority earlier. The same team also imposed heavy fine on Delhi Nehari in Faisal Town because of bad cleanliness, dirty washing area and open drainage. While Submarine restaurant was also fined because of selling food items without labelling, dirty washing areas and poor personal hygiene of workers.
Ravi Town team checked the old city and sealed one Waqas Hotel in Taxali Gate on the charges of poor hygiene and doing business without license. It also fined one Chiragh Din Sweets manufacturing unit for not covering the food items, dirty washing areas, not printing expiry date and other charges. While New Chiragh Din Sweets situated on Khokhar Road was also fined for not covering the food items and poor personal hygiene of workers. The team also took the samples of food colour for further verification. Nishtar Town team sealed Ajwa Food (Achaar Production unit) on the charges of using rotten fruits, using bluecolour chemical drums for processing of pickle, inappropriate lighting arrangements and storage for the produced food items.
