Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that during two-day international seminar on Business Opportunities in Punjab, over 150 agreements and MoUs have been signed by investment companies of China and Turkey, between the Punjab government and investors in the fields of transport, infrastructure, industrial estate development, energy, housing and mines & minerals and other sectors.
He vowed that no stone would be left unturned to give practical shape to those agreements. Shahbaz Sharif said those agreements would prove to be a corner stone in increasing economic cooperation between Pakistan, China and Turkey and hoped that further expansion of economic ties would be made as a result of those agreements.
He said "we are grateful to the leadership, governments and people of China and Turkey for these agreements in economic fields, which will prove to be a towering milestone in the friendly relations between these two countries and its peoples." He said "Today is a historic occasion, during which over 150 agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) have been signed with Chinese and Turkish investment companies."
He said with the implementation of those agreements, investment opportunities in Punjab would be further enhanced while a new epoch of economic relations between Pakistan, China and Turkey would be created. He said China and Turkey had been extending wholehearted cooperation to various development sectors in Pakistan during the last many decades, while that economic cooperation was increasing with the passage of time. He said with the implementation of those agreements, close economic ties between Pakistani businessmen and Chinese and Turkish investors would be further strengthened.
He said it was a matter of great pride and satisfaction that such a huge number of Chinese and Turkish investors had decided to invest in Punjab. He said agreements signed between Punjab government and Turkish and Chinese investors were a powerful reflection of complete trust of 180 million people of Pakistan on the forceful and effective policies being pursued by PML-N and the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The Chief Minister said those agreements also reflected powerful trust which the international investors had on the doctrine of complete transparency and honesty by the Pakistan government.
He said the government of Pakistan Muslim League-N was ensuring a future full of progress and prosperity for the 180 million people of Pakistan, due to which PML-N enjoyed extraordinary support and trust of the people of Pakistan. The CM said projects of China Pakistan Economic Corridor were being speedily implemented, proving the fact that CPEC was a great gift of China for the people of Pakistan. He said Pakistan was facing serious challenges of shortage of energy and terrorism, and that it was essential for progress and prosperity to overcome problems facing the country including poverty, unemployment, ignorance and energy shortage.
He said Pakistan, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was working day and night to overcome energy crisis and to ensure elimination of terrorism in the country, adding "the day is far off when our sincere efforts would prove to be highly fruitful." Shahbaz Sharif said he paid sincere and dedicated tributes to the efforts of ambassadors of China and Turkey and Punjab government authorities for ensuring huge success of the seminar.
