He was speaking at Mufti Mehmood Conference held here on Sunday. Vowing to continue struggle for the independence of economy, civilisation, religion, politics, democracy, parliament and administration, the JUI chief said that confrontation among institutions cannot help resolve problems rather it will deteriorate the situation.
He said that the religious and political leadership had always established national consensus and unity from the Objective Resolution till the formation of Muthahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA).
He said that linguistic and regional politics will create hatred and it could prove fatal for the national salvation.
He said that decision concerning the future of Fata should be taken in consultations with tribesmen. He said that now the time has come that the people of Fata should be treated as humans, saying they are even not enjoying those rights which are guaranteed to the residents of other parts of the country.
He said that mosques and religious seminaries are facing all kinds of threats and as such the need of the hour is that all clerics and religious leadership must demonstrate unity to face such threats.
The JUI-F chief said that the policy of his party is not based on the bayonet of gun, but on arguments, saying that they are favouring reforms through democratic means of legislation to turn the country into a cradle of peace.
He said that in past policies were framed while giving priorities to internal affairs of the country, but now external priorities are reigning supreme.
