Palm oil prices little changed on European vegoils market

10 Nov, 2015

Palm oil prices were little changed on the European vegoils oils market on Friday with the market stabilising after a volatile week's trading. Dealers said a stronger dollar could have weighed on asking prices but sellers opted not to cut offers with conditions thin and little buying interest evident. Crude palm oil offers ranged from $5.00 a tonne higher to $5.00 lower. They noted high stocks in Asia remain a bearish influence on the market.
Laurics were also broadly stable with coconut oil offers cut by $5.00 a tonne while palmkernel oil asking prices were raised by $5.00 a tonne with no business reported. December CBOT soyoil was up 0.17 cents or 0.6 percent at 28.00 cents per lb by 1823 GMT. The contract was on track for a small weekly loss of less than one percent. EU rapeseed oil asking prices were unchanged to 2.00 euros a tonne higher, underpinned by a weaker euro against the dollar.
