Canadian canola rises

10 Nov, 2015

ICE Canadian canola rose on Friday, registering a weekly gain, on support from a low Canadian dollar and possible fund buying. Spillover support from stronger US soyoil prices, and slow selling by Canadian farmers also lifted canola, a trader said. Most-active January canola gained $5.20 to $479.70 per tonne, in light volume. Rose 1.3 percent for the week. March canola added $5.70 to $485.50 per tonne. January-March spread traded 978 times.
Chicago January soybeans climbed on bargain-buying. Malaysian January palm oil fell and NYSE Liffe Paris February rapeseed rose.
