On behalf of the Japan-Pakistan Business Co-operation Committee, I would like to extend our heartfelt greetings to the government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the occasion of the 7th Pakistan-Japan Private Sector Business Dialogue and 5th Pakistan-Japan Government Business Dialogue.
JPBCC was established in 1984 to promote economic relations between Japan and Pakistan, and has been working with our counterpart the Pakistan-Japan Business Forum (PJBF) with a focus on holding the Private Sector Business Dialogue with them. Three years and eight months have now passed since the last meetings were held in Tokyo in March 2012. I am pleased to meet and renew old friendships between us after a long interval of time. With the support of the two governments, I would like to sincerely discuss and find clues to solve business problems in a positive and constructive manner.
Recently, a number of significant investments have been taking shape. The expectations of Japanese companies are growing, with examples including the opening of a factory by a motorbike manufacturer and plans for the establishment of a local corporation by a food maker. Through the upcoming meetings, I hope to further strengthen economic relations between Japan and Pakistan.
