A three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday set aside the Election Tribunal verdict and declared Jam Madad Ali of Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) as the winning candidate from Sindh Assembly' PS-81. Jam Madad had won the seat in 2013 general election but his opponent PPP candidate Asghar Junejo challenged his victory in the Election Tribunal which declared Junejo as winning candidate in recounting.
After hearing the appeal of Jam field against Election Tribunal's decision, the Supreme Court rejected the Tribunal verdict in the matter and de-seated PPP provincial minister Asghar Ali Junejo and declared Ali as returned candidate on the seat.
