Dar reviews preparations for Pak-Russia IGC meeting

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar chaired the preparatory meeting for the upcoming 4th Pak-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission here at the Ministry of Finance Thursday. Secretary Economic Affairs Division Muhammad Saleem Sethi briefed the minister on the preparations for the 4th Pak-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission and the other ministries and divisions elaborated issues related to their areas of expertise.
Dar reviewed the implementation status of the decisions taken during the previous round of bilateral dialogue. The participants shared the proposals for enhancement of bilateral co-operation between Pakistan and Russian Federation. The minister expressed his satisfaction over the progress made since the previous IGC meeting and issued directions for making the upcoming IGC session productive and fruitful.
The fourth session of Pakistan Russia Inter Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and technical Co-operation is scheduled from November 17-20, 2015 at Islamabad. It will be co-chaired by the Minister for Finance Minister Ishaq and Director of the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation Victor Petrovich Ivanov. This forum provides an institutional framework to adequately address the concerns of both the countries to expand economic, educational, scientific, technical and commercial ties.
Representatives of Economic Affairs Division, Finance Division, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Water and Power, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources, Ministry of Industries & Production, Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of National Food Security & Research, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Information, Broadcasting & National Heritage, Narcotics Control Division, Ministry of Interior, Board of Investment, Federal Board of Revenue, Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated the meeting.
