The WWF-Pakistan was informed on Thursday by a family residing in Khayaban-e-Rahat DHA Karachi that they had rescued four turtles from a nearby plot. The WWF-Pakistan team immediately arrived there and took these turtles into their custody. On inquiring about the exact location of the turtles, Saher Ali informed that they had rescued these turtles from the plot near their home. She also took the team to that location, where some more turtles were found hiding the shrubs whereas a large jute bag was also witnessed which contained Black spotted turtles.
On counting, a total of 26 turtles were found out of which five were dead. Subsequently, 25 living black spotted turtles were handed over to Sindh Wildlife Department for release into their natural habitat.
