General Fan meets Naval Chief

General Fan Changlong, Vice Chairman of Central Military Commission of People's Republic of China, accompanied by 24-member delegation, paid an official visit to Pakistan. Upon arrival at PNS Mehran, the honourable dignitary was received by Commander Karachi, Vice Admiral Syed Arifullah Hussaini. Later, General Fan Changlong called on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah at Headquarters Commander Pakistan Fleet, where he held detailed discussion on professional matters with the Naval Chief.
A comprehensive brief on 'Security Situation in Indian Ocean', 'Maritime Security cooperation between Pakistan and China' and 'Operational Developments' was also given to the visiting dignitary. The Vice Chairman also visited F-22 P Class Pakistan Navy Ship ASLAT, which has been constructed indigenously in collaboration with People's Republic of China. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Navy presented him Guard of Honour on his arrival onboard PN Ship ASLAT.
General Fan Changlong joined PLA (Navy) in 1969. Besides Commanding the PLA (Navy), he has had the privilege to serve on various coveted appointments including Chief of Staff of Shengyang Military Command, Assistant Chief of the General Staff, Commander Ji'nan Military Command and Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC. The Vice Chairman was accompanied by Vice Chief of General Staff, Political Commissar of Chengdu Military Regions Command, Deputy Chief of General Logistic Department and Deputy Commander of PLA Navy.-PR
