KP granting model status to all existing colleges: Ghani

Special Assistant to KP Chief Minister on Information and Higher Education, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani has said that the provincial government is converting all existing colleges into model colleges in the province. He was addressing a function held in connections with Annual Parents Day in Modern School and College, Abbottabad the other day.
The special assistant said that for provision of higher education to meet the requirement of the modern era education of youth, new colleges and universities are being established in the province. He said that the provincial government believes that progress and development is impossible sans bringing improvement in education sector.
He said that the PTI led provincial government is only one, which is open before the general public like a book while in past all decisions were used to be taken in closed door rooms and in the name of people, their rights were usurped.
Mushtaq Ghani said that present government has directed included people in its each decision and step, which is a popular precedent. He said that through reformative agenda, the deteriorating conditions of institutions have been improved and their performance has been improved and abolition of political interference recruit and admissions in colleges and universities are made on strict merit.
He said that in past universities were established to appease and appoint blue-eyed as Vice Chancellors, saying how big injustice it will be to establish higher education institute to appoint only one person as vice chancellor. But, the present government, he said has now constituted a search committee, with reputed persons as members on the basis of the same qualification they select a vice chancellor. He said that Higher Education is the only department, which achieve 100 percent target of it annual development programme.
