Profound importance of education highlighted

A function of Hamdard Naunehal Assembly Karachi chapter was held yesterday to discuss the theme: "Education is the only remedy of nation's diseases in this age" a single line of a poem of Allama Iabal, at a local hotel. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation said that Allama Iqbal considered to the unfortunate condition of Muslims as a disease and the remedy he selected for this ailment, was education and education only, thus he gave a panacea to the nation for the removal of its all grievances.
Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said was fully agreed with Allama Iqbal's prescription and did a lot to promote the education and dissemination of knowledge in the country, she said, adding that we should take the challenge of spreading the education in our society and toe the line of Hakim Said.
She told the children that they should fully concentrate on their study, because they will have to make Pakistan enriched with knowledge and wisdom in order to face the challenges of the new age. Chief guest Professor Dr Fayyaz Ved while addressing the meeting said that Allama Iqbal had given the nation a prescription for education but it was Hakim Said who dedicated his whole life for spreading the education and the training of the children.
He told to children that there was only a path of success and that was education which was shown to them by Allama Iqbal and Hakim Said. Before them Plato and Aristotle had shown the same path for progress and prosperity, he added. Commending the speeches, delivered by the children on the occasion, he said that they left no couplet of Allama Iqbal's poetry, suited to the theme, to be mentioned by him in his speech.
'If the nation wants to make progress, it should follow the principles, laid by Iqbal, Jinnah and Hakim Said as the country needs modern knowledge and research to pace with the developed world, which has already gone far ahead', he said adding that the children should take proper education not only to get the higher grades but to get real knowledge and wisdom. Child speakers Hafiza Arooba Fatima, Ubaidur Rehman, Hasbia Shah, Arfa Sadiq, Shahbaz Ali, Hira Bano, Eiman Fatema, Aisha Kanwal and Taha Moazzam also spoke.-PR
