PPP takes out rally to celebrate foundation day

30 Nov, 2015

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) on Sunday staged a rally to celebrate its foundation day here. A large number of party workers and supporters including women and children participated in the rally, which was taken out from Bilawal House and culminated at Sparco Intersection after passing through the areas of Shireen Jinnah Colony, M.T. Khan Road and Maripur area. PPP stalwart Sherry Rehman led the rally.
She said that PPP was the real democratic party of the country. She said that the party never joined hands with any extremist/terrorist outfit. PPP always fought for people's rights. She said that the PPP supporters would demonstrate their strength in the Local Body elections to be held on December 5.
Sherry Rehman while speaking to media said that the rally was taken out to celebrate the party's foundation day and was not part of the party's electioneering.
She said that Lyari will remain PPP's stronghold as other parties have failed to gain the people's attention. The supporters and activists of the party were dancing to the party anthems and chanting slogans in favor of the party.
Meanwhile, in a statement PPP's Senator Saeed Ghani expressed his gratitude to the people of Lyari for what he termed rejecting Burger Imran Khan Niazi's invitation to attend a gathering of the PTI at Kakri Ground in Lyari.
On such a humiliating rejection from the people of Lyari, who always proved to be die-hard Jiayalas of the PPP, the PTI Chairman Imran Khan on returning to his base kept on changing his dresses and vehicles. Lastly, as usual, he asked his party men to bring people from other areas so as to make a show, which was an utter manifest of failure.
Senator Ghani while commenting on the so-called threats to the PTI Chairman said it was strange to hear if Imran Khan claims he has threats from the groups he lives with.
