01 Dec, 2015

President, Karachi Transport Action Committee, Muhammad Ashraf Banglori has suggested the government to bring more buses on roads as the public transport system in city has been deteriorated and population of metropolis was facing difficulties in travelling.
Talking to APP here on Monday, he said there were hundreds of thousand people in the city who did not even possess motorbikes. They were solely dependant on the public transport for all their outdoor activities including travelling for offices and education purpose.
During the rush hours in the morning and in the afternoon, he said, one would find queues of the people on the bus stops. When a bus comes up after unreasonably long gap, the commuters do run and push each other to catch the vehicle. Roof-tops of most of the buses are usually occupied with passengers due to shortage of buses. He said, once the city had a strong and the best system of public transport to cater for majority of the population.
