Export premiums for corn and soyabeans shipped from the US Gulf Coast were slightly firmer on Monday amid scattered demand, traders said. Weekly inspections of US soyabeans for export were 1.84 million tonnes, above analysts' expectations for 1.45 million to 1.75 million, the US Department of Agriculture said.
Weekly export inspections of US corn were 298,692 tonnes, below expectations for 450,000 to 650,000 tonnes. Wheat inspections were 275,736 tonnes, within estimates for 200,000 to 400,000 tonnes, according to the USDA. FOB Gulf soyabeans for December shipment were offered about 78 cents a bushel over CBOT January futures, up 2 cents from Friday, traders said. December corn offers were 67 cents over CBOT December futures, up a penny from Friday.
December soft red winter wheat at the Gulf was offered 80 cents over CBOT December futures, which was unchanged. December hard red winter wheat offers were flat at 120 cents over December futures, while offers for deferred shipment were slightly weaker, traders said.
