It gives me pleasure to know that Sindh AIDS Control Program is observing the World AIDS Day with the theme "Getting to ZERO". The Provincial Government at all level is fully committed to control the lethal disease by utilising all available resources involving effective participation of stake holders which would go a long way towards realisation of the goal of reign in deadly health issue.
The HIV epidemic is a fast outpacing global health and social problem and is now regarded one of the great social and security issue stalking substantial world population and Pakistan in no exception. The fight requires devoted, sustain and prolong efforts and the provincials government is well aware of its responsibilities to check its spread. I would rather emphasise on the prevention aspect as the country' population must be made aware of the acute problem having negative impact on the social and economical sphere of the society.
I firmly believe that the commitment & Endeavour of the concerned Department coupled with its sustained awareness Campaign against the HIV problem, expansion of prevention and treatment services in the province is key to ensuring deadly disease control in the province. We must not alienate HIV victims in the Society and help them to remain active segment of the population indulging in the normal activities. It is a curable disease and its gradual eradication would go a long way mitigating unfounded dears prevalent among masses which eventually leads to isolation and Victims of the disease.
