The result of local bodies' election in Karachi has upset Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) as a party report has declared the operation against Lyari criminal gangs behind party's defeat. The senior leadership of PPP held a meeting to monitor the reason of defeat. The final report would be soon submitted to party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
According to initial report, the action of PPP government against criminal gangs in Lyari has also become the main cause of their defeat.
The leaders of PPP have faced torture and threats during the polls however, the party is still zealous in serving the people of the nation. Other reasons have also been taken under discussion during the session.
Meanwhile, the locals said that PPP has failed to resolve the issues of people due to which they didn't prefer to elect its candidates. They said that no development work was done during their government.
It is pertinent to mention here that PPP has only clinched six seats in 15 union councils of Lyari, which was considered a party's strong hold since the party was formed.
