A 12-member delegation of Dairy Science Park (DSP) will visit Brussels, Belgium next month on invitation of Sandia National Laboratories USA. KP Senior Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Inayatullah Khan will lead this delegation. Professor M Subhan Qureshi, Chief Patron of DSP is co-ordinating the activity and the participants include experts of Dairy Science Park at the University of Agriculture Peshawar, Higher Education Commission, Smeda, Livestock and Dairy Development Department and the private sector.
Subhan Qureshi, who is also Dean Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences (FAHVS) Agriculture University Peshawar, told this scribe that a one-week workshop will be held to cover Biorisk Curriculum Development Courses for the regional universities.
The meeting will focus on the objectives of biorisk management and identifying courses where biorisk management curriculum can be inserted into existing curricula and/or new courses to be developed. He furthermore informed that this course is the first step in establishing a centre for biorisk curriculum development.
FAHVS Dean said provincial Minister Inayatullah Khan has recently inaugurated the Third International Workshop on Dairy Science Park, which was attended by over 500 participants representing the academics, government, development and business organisations within the country, Afghanistan and Turkey. He maintained that DSP has been collaborating various university, research and development organisations of the country and abroad and would like to introduce new concepts of biorisk management into contents of the already existing subjects of DVM degree programme.
