Minorities' delegation meets Wattoo

President Punjab PPP Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has said that the PPP has always considered the minorities as its constituency and took unprecedented steps to bring them in the mainstream politics of the country. He was talking to a delegation of minorities here on Friday. He notified the appointment of Imran Athawal as President of PPP Punjab Minority Wing on the occasion.
He said the PPP has done away with the separate electorate for the minorities to end the political discrimination against the very important segment of the country that had rendered valuable services for the cause of the country. He recalled that the PPP would continue to follow the policy of bringing minorities at par in political sense and indeed was following the policy in letter and spirit.
"Chairman Bilawal Bhutto's declaration of wish to see the Prime Minister of Pakistan from minorities spoke volume of the level of commitment of the PPP and its leadership towards minorities," he added. He said the last PPP government had declared August 11 as the Minorities Day which was quite in line with the vision of the founder of the nation who was great proponent of equal rights to all Pakistani regardless of their creed, gender or faith.
