US Plains HRW wheat bids flat

13 Dec, 2015

Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat were flat at mills and elevators across the southern US Plains on Thursday, as supplies were ample and farmer sales slow, grain dealers said. Farmers still have about 40 percent of their wheat harvest, dealers said. Farmers are selling, but not many, dealers said. Wheat demand is weak, dealers said.
But mills and elevators had more than enough wheat to last them, dealers said. Protein premiums for wheat delivered by rail to and through Kansas City were unchanged for wheat with 11 to 12.8 percent protein. Premiums fell by 3 cents for wheat with 13.0 percent. Protein premiums were unchanged for wheat with 13.2 to 14.0 percent. K.C. hard red winter wheat futures for March wheat were last down 9-3/4 cents at $4.90-1/4 a bushel.
