Successful test of Shaheen-III

14 Dec, 2015

This is apropos 'Pakistan conducts successful test of Shaheen-III' carried by Business Recorder on Saturday. According to an ISPR statement, Pakistan has conducted a successful flight test of Shaheen-III surface-to-surface ballistic missile, with a maximum range of 2750 kilometres. The test flight was aimed at validating various designs and technical parameters of the weapon system. The successful flight test with its impact point in the Arabian Sea, validating all the desired parameters was witnessed by senior officers from strategic plans division, strategic forces, scientists and engineers of strategic organisations.
The addition of Shaheen-III in Pakistan's arsenal speaks volumes about Islamabad's focus on defence imperatives. The evolving geopolitical situation that is largely characterized by India's growing belligerence and a highly precarious security situation in North Africa and the Middle East warrants no complacency on Pakistan's part. All those who contributed towards achieving this milestone in complementing country's deterrence capacity deserve congratulations.
