Qaumi Watan Party Provincial Chairman and KP Senior Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao urged scholars and writers to utilise maximum potential for the promotion and publication of Pakhtuns culture and language. The senior minister expressed these remarks during a seminar in Pashto Academy at University of Peshawar (UoP) on Monday. VC UOP Dr Rasool Jan and Director Pashto Academy Nasrullah Wazir were also present on the occasion.
Sikandar Sherpao said that those nations which had worked day and nights for promotion of their cultures and languages had achieved success in every field of life, adding those nations which did show respect to their culture had failed on all fronts. He assured the participants that provincial government would provide every possible help to the academy as well as other scholars and writers in the field of research and publication of Pakhtuns culture and Pashto language.
Citing QWP chief Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao's wishes and struggles regarding creation of Pashto dictionary, Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao maintained that bringing Pakhtuns nation on the track of progress and development was the main feature of his party's manifesto. He, on the occasion, urged scholars, writers, academia and teachers to utilise maximum potential regarding promotion of Pakhtuns' culture and language in order to portray a positive image of the Pakhtuns nation to the international community that they are not extremists by nature but peace loving people.
